ARMAR-7: Versatile Humanoid Assistance for Daily Tasks
ARMAR-7 is a humanoid robot with torque-controlled 8-DoF arms, underactuated five-finger hands, head, torso and a holonomic mobile platform. The robot has been designed to provide versatile and personalized assistance to humans in daily activities. To do so, ARMAR-7 is equipped with sensorimotor skills and cognitive functions to allow the execution of complex tasks in household environment while learning from human demonstrations and its own experience. Users can interact naturally with ARMAR-7 using spoken language or gestures to communicate their needs, which the robot then fulfills autonomously or in collaboration with a human partner.
Today's demonstration will showcase some of these capabilities.
ARMAR-7 is the latest member of the ARMAR humanoid robot family developed at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany.
