A UNIQUE COLLABORATIVE FACILITY
The Center offers researchers an exceptionally provisioned collaborative environment with suites dedicated to in-situ development of focused technology Flagship projects, sharing a 3000 sq. ft. common area for robotic experiments.

THE SRC’S 6 RESEARCH BAYS

The Dance Studio

The facility is equipped with OptiTrack motion capture systems to track and collect data on human movement patterns. Researchers can use this data to develop methods that enhance the efficiency and stability of humanoid robots impacting how safely robots can move around humans.

The Domestic Suite

Focusing on developing robotic systems to assist with companionship, human augmentation, household chores, and smart home environments.

The Field & Construction Bay

Developing robotic systems for use in agriculture, construction, energy, mining, ocean operations, space, and disaster response.

The Medical Bay

Advancing healthcare through robotics research, the Medical Bay explores innovative technologies to improve patient outcomes. Current projects include:

• Amphibious Magnetic Origami
• RobotDaVinci Research Kit
• Magnetic Milli-spinner

The Logistics & Manufacturing Bay

Exploring how robotics can enhance efficiency and adaptability in manufacturing, mobility, and logistics.

Human-Robot Interaction Studio

Equipped with advanced speakers and projectors, the suite creates immersive interaction spaces that help people engage with robots across different settings.

Robotics is undergoing a major transformation in scope and dimension with increasing impact on the economy, production,  and culture of our global society. Bringing the quality and span of Stanford’s robotics research within the Center’s rich collaborative environment offers a powerhouse for meeting the challenges of this accelerating robotics revolution.

The Center’s cross-disciplinary nature engages a network for students, researchers and corporate members.

THE OPEN SPACE

The Open Space is a distinguished feature of The Center's architecture. This is an expansive gathering space for seminars, guest speakers, student showcases, industry panels, and community events.

UNDERWATER ROBOTICS: COMING SOON

A large tank is currently in development. The tank contributes towards the progress of technology needed for deep-sea exploration and industrial and environmental applications that are beyond the safe range of human divers.

OceanOne, a bimanual underwater humanoid robot with haptic feedback, allows human pilots an unprecedented ability to explore the depths of the oceans in high fidelity.

The Underwater Robotics tank will be the future home of OceanOne.

THE SRC LAUNCHES

While robotics at Stanford dates back to the 1960s, the SRC is a new initiative. Our launch event on November 1, 2024 let the world know about the strength of Stanford Robotics.
