The Stanford Magazine Highlights the Work of 4 SRC Members
“Dull, dirty, and dangerous. For decades, the ‘Three D’s’ were viewed as the ideal types of jobs for robots. A fourth D—domestic—was not so much in the discussion.” Currently, we’re on the cusp of a significant transformation as robots gain the sophistication to work closely with us in our personal lives. “When we talk about domestic robotics, we really talk about robots to support aging and disabilities,” says Steve Cousins, Director of the SRC.
The Stanford Magazine highlights the work of four SRC members who are making advancements in robotics to preserve independence, social engagement, and extend health: Michelle Baldonado, Steve Collins, Allison Okamura, and Monroe Kennedy III. The outcomes of their discoveries help not only our aging population, but all generations.
