Steve Cousins: Reflections on Advancements in Robotics

Steve Cousins @ Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders Speaker Series (ETL)

Steve Cousins is the executive director of the Stanford Robotics Center and founder of Relay Robotics (formerly Savioke), which builds autonomous service robots for hotels and healthcare. 

Cousins’ career reflects a commitment to advancing robotics from research to real-world applications. He previously served as CEO and president of Willow Garage, where he helped launch the open-source robotics movement through the creation of ROS (Robot Operating System), and he is a founding board member of the Open Source Robotics Foundation. He received the IEEE/IFR Award for Invention and Entrepreneurship in Robotics and Automation award in 2017.

Cousins earned his PhD in computer science at Stanford and his BS and MS in computer science from Washington University.
